- Peregrination: a journey, especially a long or meandering one. This is especially true of Disabled musicians, which this piece is written about. Peregrination is set in a Rondo form, but twisted in such a way that the Refrains are subdued and the Episodes freely singing. The muted horn in the Refrains struggles against the stormy piano textures, representing Disabled musicians not getting support and accommodations, while the open horn represents the same musicians being valued for unique perspectives when they're able to be themselves and succeed. Slowly, the characteristics begin to switch until a Refrain and an Episode each have the horn unmuted and muted, respectively. A rousing coda then brings Peregrination to a close with all of the above elements being combined.
